The Box and Packaging
The box and packaging comes with the usual user’s manual, software setup guide, a Phantom Gaming post card, a pair of SATA cables, 2 x M.2 screws, a pair of velco straps for cable management, along with a drivers disc, as well as a Phantom Gaming keycap and a high-powered WiFi antenna.
The ASRock Z690 Phantom Gaming-ITX/TB4 Motherboard
The motherboard comes in a matte-black finish and a nice large heatsink that cool the Mosfets/VRMs on both the top, and the side of the motherboard. There’s also a pretty decent looking I/O hood with the Phantom Gaming logo showing the “Z690” series.
Smack right in the middle of the motherboard is the LGA1700 socket. You’ll also find 3 x SATA3 ports, USB 3 header, and load of fan and RGB pin headers on the motherboard. The 2 x DDR5 DIMM slots are located on the right, and supports memory speeds of up to DDR5-6000. And finally, on the bottom of the motherboard, you’ll find the PCIE 5.0 x16 steel slot.
A Closer Look
On the top left-hand side of the motherboard, you’ll find the 8-pin PCIE power connector which is required for the motherboard. There’s also 3 x 4-pin headers for CPU cooling/fans and 1 x 3-pin RGB header. An extra Hyper M.2 slot can be found on the back of the motherboard
You also get the Thunderbolt™ 4 Type-C connector, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Front Type-C, 4 x Rear USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, and 3 x USB 3.2 Gen1 (1 Rear, 2 Front). And finally, for connectivity, you get the Killer E3100 2.5GB LAN as well as the Killer AX1675 802.11ax supporting WiFi 6e + Bluetooth. The rear I/O panel includes a HDMI port, DisplayPort, BIOS flashback, Clear CMOS button, and connectors for your WiFi antenna, as well as an array of audio connectors.
