Installation
During our installation, we used a Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML 240 AIO cooler fitted with their LGA1700 mounting kit. It fitted perfectly with plenty of space around the processor socket. We didn’t use the included graphics card holder from ASRock this time, as there was no need to. But remember, if you want to eliminate that ugly sag from your graphics card, you can always the included graphics card holder which is pretty neat.
BIOS
The BIOS on the ASRock Z690 Steel Legend is pretty easy to use. The 1st page you’ll see the default “Easy Mode” where you can monitor all the system status on one page. During our tests, we left everything on AUTO/Default, however I did enable XMP profiles for the memory supporting DDR4-3600 ram.
The advanced tab allows users to configure settings for CPU, chipset, storage and NVMe, as well as onboard devices such as Thunderbolt, USB, TPM and more. A separate page is dedicated for ASRock’s Polychrome RGB.
If you select “Advanced Mode”, you’ll then see all the other options available for tweaking your processor, memory and more. Voltages for memory and processor can be adjusted here … but do be careful not to push it too hard. Higher voltages can damage your hardware.
