Conclusion
ASRock Z790 Steel Legend WiFi is a good motherboard that delivers high performance and stability at a reasonable price. The current price of the motherboard is around $350 in the Amazon store. It’s not cheap, but somewhere in the middle of the Z790 motherboards list. At this price, we get the same performance as the top motherboard series. We also get a strong power design and good cooling with large heatsinks, PCIe 5.0 slot, and M.2 PCIe 5.0 socket, which is not always available in Z790 motherboards. There are, however, some things that had to be cut down. I mean older audio codec, no Thunderbolt 4, and no fast USB ports. These are things that most gamers can live without while they can save a lot of money on a better processor or a graphics card.
The motherboard passed all our tests flawlessly, keeping full stability and low temperatures under high load. There were no problems with BIOS or ASRock RGB software.
Pros:
- High performance
- Easy to use BIOS/UEFI
- High compatibility with various devices
- M.2 PCIe 5.0
- Graphics card holder
- RGB support for various devices and full synchronization
Cons:
- Older Audio Codec
- Maximum RAM frequency support is lower than for competitive motherboards
- No 20/40Gbps USB ports on the back IO panel
Final words:
The ASRock Z790 Steel Legend WiFi is a well-balanced and affordable motherboard that delivers everything most gamers will want. It offers good performance, excellent stability, and comes with various gaming features that will improve your experience while playing your favorite titles.
