Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero (Z270) Motherboard Review

Installation

We placed our highly clockable Intel Core i5-7600K (Kaby Lake) processor on to the ROG Maximus XI Hero motherboard, and then slapped on the Cooler Master Master Liquid Pro 240 AIO cooler, which fitted nicely.

We checked the spacing and room around the processor socket, VGA card and DIMM slots. All is good.

 

The BIOS

The BIOS on the Asus  ROG Maximus XI Hero motherboard is easy to use. The default main page shows the current speed of your CPU, memory information and voltage readings.

There are tons of options for overclocking and performance tweaks, including adjustments voltages, memory timings and more.

 

EZ Tuning Wizard – For Easy Overclocking

The EZ Tuning Wizard allows easy overclocking via a couple of clicks. By using this option, the BIOS will automatically overclock the system for you to the highest and most stable speed.
