Test Setup
For our tests, we used a test rig which includes the Asus ROG Maximus X Hero (Z370) Motherboard, along with an Intel Core i7-8700K (Coffee Lake) at default clock speed of 3.7GHz (turbo boost 4.5GHz), as well as 8GB of G.Skill Trident-Z DDR4-3200 ram in dual channel mode.
All tests were conducted at turbo clock speeds of 4.2GHz at a resolution of 1920×1080. High or Ultra settings enabled.

Idle Temps
Temperatures for idle looks normal at around 39 degrees Celsius. It’s what I expected as there’s no activity.
Load Temps
With the system at full load, here we see the temperature jump to a high of 89 degrees Celsius. It’s acceptable and it’s what I expected. No issues with normal system operation.
To cool your CPU better, we highly recommend a powerful/high-end AIO cooler or a large heatsink with a powerful high air-flow fan.

What a great motherboard. This will be my next purchase!
Sounds like it eh.
Hope you have better luck than I, have been fighting ghost in the machine for a few days now…hope it clears up…I’m using the 8700k cpu and 32gb ram.
New stuff, odds are you’ll be a beta for a bit.
Upside, once everything works, you’ll have a board that probably lasts as long as my old one (14 years) and was still actually useful in the later years for gaming…
