Overclocking
Disclaimer: Overclocking is never guaranteed, so the results may vary depending on certain conditions and various hardware configurations. I am not recommending overclocking if you do not know what are you doing. High voltages may damage hardware and it will not be covered by warranty.
Using the ROG UEFI BIOS, we were able to overclock the Intel Core i7-8700K from the default speed of 3.7GHz to a nice 5.0GHz. To achieve this, we increased the multiplier to x50 and upped the voltage to 1.35v.
Load Temperatures
This time load temperatures hit a high of 100 degrees Celsius. That’s not good. Beyond 100 degrees, the CPU started throttling which negatively affects performance. A custom water loop is highly recommended if you want to overclock the chip to 5.0GHz or higher.

What a great motherboard. This will be my next purchase!
Sounds like it eh.
Hope you have better luck than I, have been fighting ghost in the machine for a few days now…hope it clears up…I’m using the 8700k cpu and 32gb ram.
New stuff, odds are you’ll be a beta for a bit.
Upside, once everything works, you’ll have a board that probably lasts as long as my old one (14 years) and was still actually useful in the later years for gaming…
