Verdict and Conclusion
The Asus TUF Gaming H670-Pro WiFi D4 is a solid motherboard that comes packed with some great features. Take for example, the 14+1 Dr.Mos power phases, Digi+ VRM, Aura Sync, 6-layer PCB, support for WiFi 6, and 4 x M.2 PCIe Gen4 slots for SSDs with heatinks. I love the friendly mounting design of the M.2 slot, it’s so easy to use – no screws needed!
Although the H670 chipset does not offer CPU overclocking, it does come with some options for memory overclocking. You can manually configure and overclock your ram via the BIOS, or just simply select and enable XMP 2.0 profiles, provided your DDR4 memory is compatible and supports it.
The motherboard doesn’t come with any onboard power/reset buttons nor does it have any clear CMOS buttons on the rear I/O panel, something which I would have liked to see. However, it does have Q-LEDs showing you the status of key components such as CPU, memory, and VGA during boot up.
Using the Intel Core i9-12900KF processor, we managed to get some really nice scores in all of our benchmarks. It produced Cinebench R23 scores of 22,666 (multi core) and 2,031 (single core). For PCMark 10, we got a score of 7,874, and for PassMark9, we managed to get a score of 9,958.
For UL’s latest Procyon Photo Editing, we got 8,518 and a score of 3,275 for Video Editing. And finally, for Timespy and Firestrike, we got decent scores of 5,403 and 13,339 respectively.
As far as expansion and connectivity is concerned, the Asus TUF Gaming H670-Pro WiFi D4 has plenty. You get the 1 x PCIe 5.0 x16 Steel slot for graphics card, 1 x PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, as well as 1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 alot and 2 x PCIe 3.0 x 1 slot. You also get a load of USB ports on the rear I/O panel including, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 port (1 x USB Type-C), 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (2 x Type-A), and 4 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (4 x Type-A).
For storage, there’s a total of 4 x SATA3 ports and 4 x M.2 (PCIe Gen4 x4) for SSDs. And finally for connectivity, you get HDMI, DisplayPort, Intel’s 2.5Gb Ethernet with TUF LANGuard, integrated onboard Intel WiFi 6, as well as an array of audio connectors.
Pricewise, the Asus TUF Gaming H670-Pro WiFi D4 Motherboard can be purchased at a price of around USD $299 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3IkTKgg.
