Performance – Part 2
3D performance and games
3D tests were performed on the RTX4080 graphics card from Colorful, which is still one of the fastest options on the current market.
All the UL benchmarks perform great and even slightly better than expected. Below are our results, which are close to the error margin compared to other reviewed X870 and X870E motherboards.
UL benchmarks are mainly known for the 3DMark series, a market standard for years. The new tests provide support for the latest graphics card technologies. However, they’re not games; users often wish to know the results of their favorite titles. Since covering all games is impossible, some selected at 1440p at ultra settings are below.
All the games also give us similar results on all X870 and X870E motherboards, which confirms that the X870E Valkyrie is a perfect motherboard for gaming and provides optimal performance. The best results are the same or 1FPS higher on more expensive motherboards, but again, it can be an error margin, considering we see over 110FPS in all presented games.
Networking
The X870E Valkyrie is equipped with 2.5Gbps Intel LAN but lacks WiFi. During various tests, we had no problems with the connection quality.
Our result for the TamoSoft benchmark is above. 2378Mpbs average is slightly less than the maximum network controller bandwidth, but it’s never close, so we see it as a very good result.
The internet connection is perfect and as high as the ISP provides.
Overclocking
Our test setup couldn’t overclock above the results presented above. The X870E Valkyrie has enabled PBO at default which makes it perform well without additional manual tweaking. On the other hand, we could count on some more. The processor boosts up to 5.85GHz at the default settings, which is above average. However, we couldn’t make it run at more than 5.2GHz on all cores, which was possible on competitive motherboards. Maybe it’s a matter of BIOS, as the power delivery and cooling are good enough.
