Conclusion and Verdict
Biostar Z590I Valkyrie is a well-designed gaming motherboard. It’s fast, stable, and gives us a solid base for CPU overclocking. On the other hand, it lacks expected high RAM support, which is still not low, as DDR4-4266 will satisfy most users, but we wish to see something closer to the DDR4-5000. At this point, I couldn’t find any other disadvantages as everything looks and works well.
We had to put all the features on two pages because the list is so long. The Valkyrie is a user-friendly motherboard that gives us various DIY options, from customizing BIOS splash screen to a mixed RGB and ARGB illumination adjustment via UEFI or easy-to-use software. The software also offers hardware monitoring and overclocking.
The motherboard doesn’t have WiFi or Bluetooth, but we can add any new M.2 controller. The WiFi 6E controllers from Intel start from around $30, so it’s not expensive, and we can always upgrade it when the new standard is out. On the other hand, most competitive motherboards in the ITX form factor are already equipped with WiFi/Bluetooth, so users expect that from Biostar.
For sure we have to mention the warranty. Biostar is sure of the quality that gives us all five years of warranty on the Valkyrie series motherboards. Most of the market sticks with two or three years.
One more thing which is a clear advantage is that the Biostar motherboards on the latest chipsets are compatible with upcoming Windows 11. The Z590I Valkyrie passed the Windows 11 compatibility test out of the box.
In the end, something significant so the price. The Z590I Valkyrie costs around €224 in the Amazon DE store or around USD $179.95 from Amazon US store. Its price will be similar or lower in some other stores, but I’ve seen that smaller online stores set the price much higher. I recommend you browse the web as the €200 range is a great price for this little motherboard. Most competitive options start from around €300.
Pros:
- High performance
- Easy to use BIOS/UEFI
- High compatibility with various devices
- RGB/ARGB support and full synchronization
- Inexpensive (compared to other Z590 ITX motherboards)
- Passes Windows 11 test out of the box
- 5-year warranty
Cons:
- No WiFi/Bluetooth (available M.2 socket)
- High-frequency RAM support could be better
Final words:
The Biostar Z590I Valkyrie is one tiny motherboard, but it’s packed full of unique features. It’s fast, stable, and overclocks well. There’s also many DIY options, giving you a variety of customization and full RGB synchronization with other devices. What’s more, the motherboard is extremely affordable and inexpensive, which makes this a great deal for all gamers and computer enthusiasts.
Biostar Z590I Valkyrie receives the Funky Kit’s Recommended Award as it’s hard not to recommend such a good motherboard!
