Performance – Part 1
All tests were performed on the ASRock Z590 Extreme motherboard, Intel i7-11700K processor, ASRock RX6800 XT Phantom Gaming graphics card, 16GB HyperX Predator DDR4-4600 CL19 memory kit, and WD Black SN850 500GB PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD on which was installed Windows 10. Everything else will be mentioned during the tests.
Memory performance
The motherboard has no problem handling memory up to DDR4-4266. However, this was the maximum frequency possible to set so that overclockers can be a bit disappointed. On the other hand, the motherboard runs fine at Gear 1 mode up to at least DDR4-3733. Our CPU couldn’t boot any higher at Gear 1 mode, but competitive motherboards usually can’t run at more than DDR4-3600.
The most popular is still DDR4-3600 or less, so most users will stick with this memory speed for optimum compatibility.
Below is a quick test at DDR4-4266 and Gear 2 mode.
Processor performance and mixed load tests
The performance and stability of our processor are excellent. There were no problems reaching its rated frequency under full load on the Biostar Z590I Valkyrie motherboard. Below are some results.
Both 7-Zip and Cinebench R23 are quite demanding tests and use AVX instructions, so they are loading the CPU to its limits. In both cases, our results are about as high as expected.
PCMark 10
PCMark results are essential as they show how all components work together in a mixed load environment. It can be translated into regular daily work, so what we all do and expect good results. It’s not a surprise that the Z590I Valkyrie performs well in this test.
