BIOSTAR Z590I Valkyrie Motherboard Review

Performance – Part 2

Storage performance

M.2 SSD performance has been tested using WD Black SN850 500GB SSD. Because of the installed OS, the maximum bandwidth is slightly lower than the specified speed of the SSD, but we know that the motherboard can reach its declared values. 6.5GB/s is still an amazing result for a single SSD.

USB performance

USB 3.2 performance has been tested using Patriot PXD 1TB SSD. This is about the maximum bandwidth possible on our external SSD and about the best result we could achieve on this USB SSD. It shows clearly there are no issues with the USB controller.

Network performance

The Z590I Valkyrie offers us a 2.5G Realtek RTL8125B LAN controller, which works without issues and with low latency.  The data server was connected via a 10G LAN controller and Netgear XS505M 10G switch, so there were no bandwidth limits. At the same time, other devices were connected to the network to simulate a typical daily workload. Hence, the maximum bandwidth is slightly lower than the maximum of the 2.5G LAN controller. We could still achieve anything between 1400Mbps and 2500Mbps in our tests during longer work.

One more LAN bandwidth test based on a shared folder. Both sequential and random operations are quite high, with up to 2450Mbps maximum bandwidth.

Let’s move to some 3D benchmarks and games.
