BIOS Overview
What make this product tick?
The UEFI BIOS has been one of the most drastic changes made to the PC in quite some time. And for the most part, the new format has been a welcomed change, especially with the support for mouse input! As expected, the ASRock Fatal1ty H170 Performance/Hyper has a very nice BIOS layout. There are actually two different interfaces, each with their own visual treatment as well as available options. The first is the EZ-Mode which has the most basic user interface and access to the most common options used for setting up a system for first time use.
The second BIOS interface is the High Definition overlay (with the option to display in standard definition) which has the same amount of tweaking options available in a customizable experience. This visual treatment has a more familiar layout to the interfaces of yesteryear. Available here are plenty of the fine tuning and overclocking options a user could hope for in a motherboard of this price range.Overclockers will feel welcome here, as there are a plethora of overclocking and fine-tuning options available.Important system status information is always at the forefront, making diagnostics handy while overclocking and tuning. Options range from automatic system tuning to fine adjustement of BCLK steps, profiles, customizable menus, and a whole lot more!
Now that we have had the chance to examine the UEFI BIOS, let us move on to the benchmarking portion of this review.

What memory kits you’ve test?! can you test some 2800 mhz, with xmp?
there is a list in asrock’s website that has all compatible non z ddr4 oc modules!
Looks like a excellent board…
I was planning to buy this for overclock, I will have a non K CPU. Could be a good option.
i actually bought the board and did what you hadnt!
overclocking !!!
i can say it super easy, you only change bclk and cpu volt!
i got my g3900 celeron to 4480 mhz stable !
but ddr4 is another story, xmp wont load, and you cannot set a mhz value , bclk doesnot increase dram speed , so you’ve left with only asrocks non – z ddr4 oc! which is an option to set memory, to
comfort (no oc stock 2133)
sport (some oc , though supposed to be stable)
sport +
i have trident z 2800 2×8 gb and it work at a certain degree , i got the ram in sport + to run at 2520 mhz
but cpu could only be overclocket to 3300 mhz, after that , overcloking the ram , and the system wont boot at all, so i left ddr4 oc , focused only in the cpu to achive 4480 mhz at 1.36 v core ….
its free performance after all!!! but if it where in an z170 board , you could have also oced the ram using xmp or simple ram overclocking and not that comfort/sport+ asrocks has on h170 boards….
overall the results are pretty amazing! but i suggest getting a z170 with SKY OC bios and run both cpu and dram overclocks!
Thanks for the comments. Do you have any screenshots you can send to us media@funkykit.com . I can upload it and edit the review with your results.
