Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ULTRA (DDR5) Motherboard Review

Installation

During our installation, we used an vertical open chassis along with a Thermaltake Flow RC Ultra 240 AIO cooler fitted with Thermaltake TOUGHFAN 12 Turbo fans. We also decided to use a PCIE 4.0 riser cable so that we can mount the graphics card vertically. Everything fitted and slotted in nicely, so there were no issues with installation whatsoever.

BIOS

There are two BIOS modes on the Gigabyte Z690 AORUS Ultra motherboard … Easy Mode and Advanced Mode. The Easy Mode allows you can monitor all the system status on this page such as fan speeds, CPU temperatures, memory and processor speeds, as well as voltages. During our tests, we left everything on AUTO/Default, however I did up the memory to DDR5-5600 ram.

In the Advanced Mode, users to configure settings for CPU, chipset, storage and NVMe, as well as onboard devices  such as USB, TPM, onboard devices and more. There are a lote of options available for tweaking your processor, memory and more. Voltages for memory and processor can also be adjusted here .

The Z690 chipset allows both memory overclocking (BCLK) and memory overclocking. And the BIOS allows you to set the CPU P-Core and E-Core ratios, as well as Vcore voltages too.

Can you set the GPU normally (horizontal) without the fins to mess with it? Also, do you have a tutorial on how to update the bios? Thanks for the help!

The GPU should be able to mount both horizontally or vertically depending on your case. For BIOS update, please check Gigabyte’s website or online tutorials on YouTube.
