Overclocking
I just couldn’t believe how simple it was. With just a couple of clicks in the UEFI based BIOS I was away. I managed to overclock the Intel Core i5-2500K from the default clock speed of 3.3Ghz to a whopping 4.8Ghz with rock solid stability … all on air cooling! That’s right … No Dry Ice, No Liquid Nitrogen or watercooling.
We upped the CPU voltage to 1.3V, increased the multiplier to x48, enabled XMP for our DDR3, but left everything else at default. Of course, you can spend more time fine-tuning the BIOS for even higher overclocks … but I’m happy with 4.8Ghz 🙂
You can overclock manually via the BIOS (which I prefer) or use the MSI OC Genie II, which intelligently auto detects the clock/voltage of the CPU, memory or iGPU for best overclocking option.
Warning: Overclocking can damage your hardware. Funky Kit is NOT responsible for any damages caused as a result of overclocking. Any overclocking is done at your own RISK!
