Today we’ll be taking a look at two wireless display adapters … the Netgear Push2TV (PTV3000) and the Anycast M2 Plus. Both offer mirroring using your Android smartphone, tablet and PC laptop. However, the Anycast M2 Plus takes it step further by allowing iOS devices to “Airplay” to any TV too.
Here’s a little background on my case. I was at meeting with some of my colleagues a few months ago, and I wanted to share my screen to a TV. Then I realize I don’t have a projector at home just an ordinary LCD TV (not a SmartTV, can’t afford one yet :P). So what do I do?
The only way was to find a HMDI or VGA cable and connect it from the laptop to the back of the TV.That’s fine as a workaround solution, but it’s the hassle of all the cables. Come on! … it’s 2016 there must be a better way!
So after doing some research on the internet, I discovered a few companies that were making these wireless display adapters. They’re nothing new … in fact, this wireless display technology such as Miracast™, Wi-Fi Direct®, Intel® WiDi has been available for a number of years now. It’s odd that no one has really taken it to the mass market. I wonder why?
Anyway, less talking and more action. We’ll start off with the Netgear Push2TV (PTV3000) …
