Verdict and Conclusion
The Netgear Push2TV may offer better build quality with a compact design. But the whole package is a BIG fail for me. You still need to power it up with a micro USB cable (the very old style USB cable, might I add). And talking able cables, you still need a HDMI cable to to connect the device to a TV. Cables, cables cables … arhh!
As for wireless display standards, the Netgear Push2TV can only muster … Miracast, WiFi Direct and Intel WiDi. It will NOT support Apple devices or Airplay.
Pricewise, the Netgear Push2TV will cost you around USD $50-60, which is ok. But I would definitely shop around and also check out the Anycast M2 Plus first.
I recommend the Anycast M2 Plus hands down … it offers SO many options like Miracast (Android), Airplay (iOS), WiDi (Intel wireless display) … far more than the Netgear Push2TV. With the Anycast M2 Plus you don’t need any Apps and the installation is simple. You can wirelessly project and mirror any Android or iOS device and of course any WiDi enabled laptops.
With average cost of around USD $30 it’s a real bargain. You don’t need an extra power supply, no need to connect any HDMI cables … just plug the device into any free HDMI port on your TV!
