Installation and Configuration Panel
We can configure the device in two or even three modes via direct cable connection or WiFi. The easiest one is as simple as to start the router, connect the internet cable, and wait till the AX12 does everything for you. You will need to set passwords for the admin account and WiFi connections, and that’s all. As simple as that. I was really surprised by how well it went.
Two other modes are about the same. There is an easy and advanced manual mode. Even the advanced one shouldn’t be complicated for many users while it let to check additional settings and manage connections.
One more option is to connect with a smartphone and configure the AX12 using the Netgear app. One more easy way to do the dirty work.
Either way, the setup is easy and painless, and it’s a significant advantage of the RAX120.
Below you can take a look at the configuration options available in the web panel. Screenshots were taken just before the firmware update. The latest version has everything in the same places, so it doesn’t really matter. The update is automatic, so we only have to confirm that we want the latest version, and it will be updated.
The panel includes all the crucial options, so we shouldn’t miss anything. Of course, it’s a router designed for home entertainment so that it may lack some business or enterprise options, but I guess it’s not a problem for target users.
