A closer look
The Dell Latitude 10 offers some pretty decent connectivity. You get 1x USB 2.0, 1x Mini HDMI, 1x MicroSD card slot, 1x 3.5mm mic/headphone combo, 1x Docking connector, which also acts as the main charging port. The model we tested lacked the SIM card slot for 3G/LTE mobile broadband, which is available as an option on the higher models.
You find an integrated 2.0 Mpixel HD front facing video webcam and also a 8.0 Mpixel rear facing camera with LED flash. Other features include a power-on/off/sleep button, volume controls, a Windows logo for quick access to the home screen and finally a stylus pen included as standard.
Dell has marketed this tablet mainly at the business users, how do we know? Well for starters, it’s packed with great security features which includes Intel® Platform Trust Technology, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2 (optional), chassis lock slot support, and support for optional Computrace.
The weight and size comparison
Dell claims the Latitude 10 weighs around 1.47lbs, but the truth is … it’s a little heavier. I compared it against the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2, and looking at the photos below, you can see that the Latitude 10 is also bigger in size.
In the end, we can confirm that the Dell Latitude 10 actaully weighed in at 1.9lbs with its total dimensions at 10.8″ (w) x 0.4” (h) x 7.0″ (d). Not quite as compact or light-weight as you would have thought.
