Corsair RM1000x ATX 3.1 Fully Modular Power Supply Review

Today, we’ll be taking a look at the Corsair RM1000x ATX 3.1 Power Supply. It’s a fully modular power supplies that uses the highest quality 100% Japanese capacitors rated at 105°C, and delivers excellent power efficiency to your PC, with potent cooling power from the 135mm Magnetic Levitation fan.

The power supply is certified 80 PLUS Gold, and features a powerful +12V single rail @ 83.3A, giving you a total power output of up to 1000W. It’s also ATX 3.1 compliant and supports PCIe 5.1 standards for next-gen graphics cards.

The package comes with a full set of high quality Type-4  braided modular power cables, for easy cable management.

For cooling, it comes with a large 135mm fan that utilizes a magnetic levitation bearing and features a custom engineered rotor for high performance, low bearing noise, and superior reliability.

It also comes with a unique manual fan override knob, which allows more air flow through the PSU by overriding the Zero RPM mode.

The package also comes with Corsair’s braided modular power cables which includes … 1 x 24-pin ATX motherboard cable, 2 x (4+4-pin) PCIE/CPU cables, 4 x (6+2-pin) PCIE power,  1 x 16-pin 12VHPWR cable,  2 x SATA power, and 2 x Molex.

To test the power supply, we’ll be using our usual test rig which is comprised of an Intel Core i9-14900K processor, which has a massive Turbo Boost TDP of 253W+ at full load. We’ll also be using an Asus Z790 Strix motherboard, 32GB of DDR5-7400 ram, a Crucial T700 1TB PCIE Gen5 SSD, and a powerful GeForce RTX 4080 Super. For cooling, we’ll using a Thermaltake ToughLiquid Ultra 360 AIO cooler mounted with 3 x Corsair iCUE Link RX120 RGB cooling fans.
