Conclusion and Verdict
I’ve always been fascinated with small form factor PCs. I’m just amazed how you can pack so much power and technology in to such a tiny package. And in the world of PC modding, most prolific modders often choose to use mini-ITX motherboards, along with SFX power supplies … and I can understand why. Smaller PSUs and motherboards allow modders to have the space needed to create their amazing PC mods.
That said, SFX power supplies nowadays are not only used for small form factor PCs. In fact, over the past few years SFX power supplies have increased in power capacity and efficiency … enough to power even full-size ATX systems. Now it’s time to meet the Corsair SF1000 Platinum ATX 3.1 Power Supply!

As I mentioned earlier, the Corsair SF1000 is rated 80 PLUS Platinum for superb power efficiency, and features a powerful +12V single rail @ 83.3A, giving you a total power output of up to 1000W. I still can’t believe a tiny SFX power supply can deliver such a high power capacity and efficiency. Yes this PSU is certified 80 PLUS Platinum!
To guarantee stability and power efficiency, the power supply uses 100% industrial-grade, 105°C rated Japanese electrolytic capacitors. And what’s more, you also get a massive 7 year warranty, which means you’ll get total peace of mind.
During our tests, we installed the Corsair SF1000 on to our test rig which is comprised of an Intel Core i9-13900K processor and has a Turbo Boost TDP of 253W+, along with the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER with a TBP of up to 320W. At 100% load, just these two components alone consumes well over 500+ Watts.
At full load, the +12V line was pretty stable at +12.096V with only a slight drop from +12.168V (idle). For the +5V line, again it was rock solid and remained at a constant +4.980V. As for the +3.3V line, it did drop ever so slightly from +3.344V to +3.324V. That said, it’s nothing to worry about.
All-in-all, I can say that the Corsair SF1000 is a rock solid SFX power supply, that not only satisfy the needs of the small form factor PC enthusiasts, but also for power-hungry users. With a power capacity of up to 1000W and 80 PLUS Platinum certification, you can guarantee it will easily power the most demanding of PC components.
The PSU does not come with any RGB or ECO fan switch, but it does come with a 92mm cooling fan with fluid dynamic bearing and Zero RPM mode. This allows for silent operation and the fan will stop spinning when the system is idle or under low to medium load.
All the modular cables are flexible and feature Corsair’s Type 5 Gen1 connector. It’s smaller than your standard PCIE power connectors, which means you only have to connect the cables you need, and thus taking up less space for tidy cable management in small cases.
You can buy the Corsair SF1000 Platinum ATX 3.1 Power Supply for around USD $239 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3Llwl1h
Final Thoughts:
It’s amazing how Corsair can pack so much, in terms of build quality, power capacity and efficiency in such a compact modular SFX power supply. Needless to say the SF1000 is a rock solid power supply that will easily satisfy the power needs of any demanding user. Period.
