Packaging
Inside the box, you’ll find the PSU unit, a power cord for the wall, a cable tie and a bundle of cables in a plastic bag. One thing I wished Cougar could have included is a pouch to store the cables.
The Cables
As you can see below, you get the full set of cables which includes 1 x Molex, 2 x SATA, 1 x 24-pin ATX power for the motherboard, 3 x 8-pin PCIE cables for the CPU/motherboard and graphics cards. And finally, inside the box, you’ll find 1 x PCIe 5.0 cable featuring the new 16-pin connectors for next-gen graphics cards (no rating labeled).
A Closer Look
The PSU feels and looks pretty solid. It’s quite compact measuring just 140 x 150 x 86 (mm). There’s no Zero fan on/off mode, just a power on/off switch.
For cooling, you’ll find a 120mm silent fan on the top. The power supply is fully modular with 1 x 12VHPWR connector for next-gen graphics cards, 3 x 8-pin PCIE connectors for motherboard and graphics card, and 3 x 6-pin power connectors for SATA power and 4-pin Molex.
Installation
There were no problems duting our installation. Because the power supply is small and compact, it should fit in most, if not all chassis.
