Photos Part Three: The Cables
First up, ATX24P (hardwired):
Got a motherboard with a 20P main motherboard connector? Tough. To be fair I can’t think of any worthwhile (these days) motherboards that lack a 24P connector. The sleeving vaguely reminds me of old appliance cords, though it is rather brighter.
CPU Power, also hardwired:
PCIe (modular):
Two 6+2P plugs per cable, nicely sleeved, I approve.
Molex/SATA:
Look closely here, we have one cable that is all SATA, two that have two SATAs and two Molexes, and one that is all Molex plus a FDD connector. I’m a big fan of the Molex+SATA cables.
For accessories, here’s what we get:
I like the velcro-ish strips, they’re far nicer to work with than zip ties. We also get the mains cable clip mentioned on the last page:
That cable isn’t going anywhere without some effort. If you try hard enough you can still pull it out, but this makes it significantly harder to do.
That does it for cables, let’s test this thing!
