FSP MEGA TI 1650W PCIe 5.1/ATX 3.1 PSU Review

The Package and Contents

The PSU arrived in a retail package with a new design compared to previously reviewed FSP PSUs.
The package itself is well described, with all the key specifications listed outside and some graphs showing efficiency and noise levels, so we don’t have to browse the web if we are curious about this data. Of course, FSP has all the details on its website.
The package looks modern, delivers all the product info, and protects the PSU well. It’s all we need.

The package includes a power supply, modular cables, a cable pouch, a user manual, screws, cable stripes, a set of combs, a power cord, and a quick start adapter (so we can run the PSU without a PC). It’s everything we need for the installation and even more.
Our version is designed for the EU, but the only difference is the power cord type. FSP PSUs are available for every region of the world. The PSU will be available with a compatible cable if we live in another area. It’s not a big problem nowadays as the PSU works at a full voltage range and is suitable for every country, and power cords are available worldwide in online stores like Amazon.

The PSU itself looks excellent and has a new, fresh-looking shape. It reminds me of the previously reviewed FSP VITA GM, but the enclosure is thicker, and the exterior is black with a more resistant scratch paint. The MEGA TI also has a new grill, which is simple but eye-catching, with a MEGA engraved on one side and the mentioned Funky Kit on the other side, as it’s a special sample for us. It doesn’t mean it’s better internally; you can expect the same top quality from a retail product.

On the back, we will find a power switch and the Eco switch, which is known from our previous FSP reviews.

Below are additional photos of the PSU. There is nothing unexpected that we haven’t seen before. On the other hand, everything looks somehow better. In reality, it looks even better than in photos.

The PSU is fully modular, so we can use as many cables as we need and skip additional ones to save space in the PC case. This helps in cable management and may improve airflow depending on the PC case design. All cables are long, and FSP adds combs that additionally help with cable management.

On the next page, we will take a closer look at the PSU and its performance.
