The Package and Contents
The PSU arrived in a retail package with a new design compared to previously reviewed FSP PSUs. However, it still includes all the descriptions on the boxes of the more expensive series. The package itself is well described, with all the key specifications listed outside and even some graphs showing efficiency and noise levels, so we don’t have to browse the web if we are curious about this data. Of course, FSP has all the details on its website.
The package includes a power supply, modular cables, a user manual, screws, and a power cord. Simply put, everything we need for the installation, without add-ons affecting the price.
Our version is designed for the EU, but the only difference is the power cord type. FSP PSUs are available for every region of the world. The PSU will be available with a compatible cable if we live in another area. It’s not a big problem nowadays as the PSU works at a full voltage range and is suitable for every country, and power cords are available worldwide in online stores like Amazon.
The PSU itself looks excellent and has a new, fresh-looking shape. The exterior is painted black and is quite durable. The highest FSP PSUs have a better painting, but we can’t complain at the VITA GM.
On the back, we will find a power switch. The Eco switch known from our previous FSP reviews is unavailable on this model. Again, we can find it on the higher series. Since there is no additional switch, the fan is automatically adjusted constantly.
Below are additional photos of the PSU. There is nothing unexpected that we haven’t seen before.
The PSU is fully modular, so we can use as many cables as we need and skip additional ones to save space in the PC case. This helps in cable management and may also improve airflow depending on the PC case design. All cables are long and flat, which helps with installation and airflow later.
On the next page, we will take a closer look at the PSU and its performance.
