Wrap Up
I’m all for the refined retro look, and visually the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 fits me to the tee, wearing a pair of over ear headphones when you’re out and about does not mean it has to screams ‘look at me!’, and these headphones gives you a more refined look with its use of colors and materials.
I definitely enjoyed reviewing the Momentum 2.0, every word that I’ve type out in this review I’ve had them plonked on my ears, blasting out all sorts of music and songs to gauge its performance. One of the best features of the Momentum 2.0 has to be the comfort you get from wearing them, I’ve had them on for hours without any discomfort whatsoever.
Sound-wise, for a pair of over ears that are designed for people on the go, its as good as it gets. Sure, for the audiophiles there are headphones out there that will give you more refined sounds, but you’ll be stumping up a lot more of your cash and willing to take them out into the ruggedness of the streets or on your travels. I enjoyed the rich but accurate bass the Momentum 2.0 pumped out, without them bleeding or drowning over the vocals.
Verdict & Conclusion
The Momentum 2 is a strong contender in its price range and well worth considering if you’re looking for a premium over-ear headphone that’s designed for both home and mobile use. With a retail price of around HK$3,899 (USD $400+), its actually surprising how much you get for such a low price if you start comparing it with its competitors. You could opt for a cheap pair of ‘in your face’ looking Beats Studio with all the funky colorways their come in, but the sound quality just does not match up all across the board even being nearly costing twice as much. Sub-HK$4,000, you’ll be hard pressed to find another pair of headphones that will stand up to the Momentum 2.0.
