Package and its Contents
The Silicon Power PX10 2TB SSD arrived in a retail package about the size of many other brands’ typical, small SSD boxes.
The package is well described with all the features and main specifications. There is also info about support and various safety certificates.
We will find an SSD and a dedicated USB-C to USB-C cable inside the box. Since it’s USB storage, installation is not required. We connect it to any USB, which should be automatically recognized and ready to work. We must remember that optimal performance will be provided only on modern computers with USB 3.2 Gen2 ports capable of 10 Gbps bandwidth. The SSD is backward compatible with older standards, but the bandwidth will be limited.
The PX10 SSD is relatively small and light. We have seen smaller portable SSDs, but most of them weigh more. The X10 is small enough to hide in a pocket. The only issue is the USB cable; we must remember to carry it with the SSD. A built-in cable or a way to attach it to the SSD would be an improvement. On the other hand, Silicon Power has a portable SSD without any cable – DS72, which we will review in the upcoming days.
The PX10 isn’t the best-looking portable, but it looks stylish and, most importantly, is functional and practical.
On the next page of this review, we will take a closer look at the performance.
