Verdict and conclusion
If I wasn’t entirely clear about the one thing this headset does rather well, I’ll say it again just for the hell of it. This thing has BASS. Even though certain other faculties could be better, I can’t deny my own personal love for that rich-sounding bass that gives the oh so satisfying beat that a lot of music and games require.
The effect of loud thumping audio is astonishing, and while this may not be as good as a live concert or…actually participating in a shootout (which I and the rest of FunkyKit don’t recommend), it’s fairly close for what you pay.
Oh yes, you knew this was coming. After browsing, I’ve found a ballpark price of $89.00 USD. Is that asking for too much? I’ll get to that in a second but first let’s weigh the pros and cons:
Pros:
- Good bass levels.
- Clear microphone.
- Volume control.
- Ideal for FPS games.
Cons:
- Not too well suited for movies and all forms of music.
- Slight discomfort after only half an hour of use.
- Somewhat pricey.
Final Words:
This is probably the 100th time I’m mentioning my appreciation for bass and percussion, but I also enjoy a more general capability for music genres. I do realize however that this is is, first and foremost, a gaming device, so that’s not necessarily what we’re looking for. After all, I myself keep a headset and a separate pair of headphones exclusively for music and movies. Having evaluated all the relevant factors and knowing the price, I’d say you could do better, but you could also do a lot worse. For what it is, the DRACCO is a good fit for FPS gamers with a competitive streak and a modest budget. At least, modest for headsets.
