Keeping with the HyperX range of products, the HyperX Cloud Core came in a red and black packaging. As you open the box, you are immediately greeted with a microphone boon that is separate to the main headset.
The memory foam used for both the lining of the over-sized ear cups and the headband is super comfortable. The designers have chosen to couple this with soft leather to give the user an extra level of comfort, and to add a bit of style to the headset, thick red stitching is used in the headband.
The headset is sturdy, the leatherette is soft and stylish, and the red sticthing across the headband adds a bit of matching red flair to match the red logo on the side of the ear cups. The cups themselves are also made from comfortable foam encased in imitation leather, and the headset is very comfortable as well as forgiving on the ears during long sessions.
The microphone is detachable, and it is also flexible, meaning that it can be slightly bent to be better positioned to suit one’s preferences. The only downside of the headset’s design, would have to be the two exposed parts of the wire that stick out from the headband. It’s not an eyesore, but it does raise some concerns should anything happen to those thin wires.

Nice review but one correction. This headset doesn’t support 7.1 virtual surround sound.
