Performance
The audio quality of the HyperX Cloud Core is surprisingly very good. The 53mm drivers really deliver a very impressive level of audio performance, and with the HyperX Cloud Core being an entry level gaming headset, it really does rise up head and shoulders above the competition.
Testing of the HyperX Cloud Core was done on a PC and a PS4 with a variety of games to really put it through its paces, and to be honest, each subsequent game I tested it on just impressed me even more.
The bass is deep and powerful without drowning out the rest of the sounds. On the other end of the scale, the treble is crisp and accurate without being too overwhelming, and in the middle, the mid-range seamlessly fills out the entire entire soundscape. The passive noise-cancellation works well in blocking out unwanted environmental sounds, and the virtual 7.1 surround sound really kicked in whilst playing Overwatch.
The adjustable microphone boon allowed me to place it exactly in the position I wanted it, and other players could hear me clearly with no drop in volume or static.
Verdict & Conclusion
If there’s one set of entry-level gaming headset you get, then the HyperX Cloud Core should be it, it really does fulfill being ‘budget’ and ‘quality’.
The only downside to the HyperX Cloud Core is the ear cups’ lack of ventilation; whilst the memory foam and soft leather give you really comfort (and these are one of the most comfortable gaming headsets I’ve worn for quite some time), prolonged gameplay does lead to your ears getting a little hot and sweaty.
The audio quality is brilliant, and there’s no way I’m parting with my pair! Buy now at Gearbest

Nice review but one correction. This headset doesn’t support 7.1 virtual surround sound.
