Conclusion and Verdict
The Philips TABH305 Bass+ Wireless Headphones pack a big punch for such a small size. Now how about that sound? The sound was good for such a light weight. The TABH305 can carry its own weight in deep bass. The interesting feature, the active noise cancelling switch, that produces a “white noise in my opinion” that cancels out the background noise. Now with every headset I test I will be doing the hum test if they claim to be noise cancelling. What I noticed is when the switch is not active and you hum with the headset on you get that feedback resonating in your ears. With the switch active you don’t have a reverberating feeling when you are humming. Plus you get a little extra bass to boot. There is a little distortion with the bass at full volume. All-in-all a very rounded well performing Bluetooth Headset.
The 32mm drivers give you some insight what to expect. With that being said the sound from these were better than expected. I have always sprung for the 50mm drivers just because the bigger the more sound right? Usually yes, but I have heard smaller drivers produce a great sound too. Most of the drivers we are seeing in our gaming headsets have gone to a 40mm driver. The smaller the driver, I can only assume, uses way less power to drive the speaker, which in turn give the unit better battery life and a lighter weight. The 32mm drivers in the TABH305 offers a decent sound while conserving on power consumption.
