Sound Quality
The Sennheiser G4ME ZERO has been engineered for gaming, producing some massive sounds when at high volume. This headset can have its volume set extremely high, and it is only at this ear-damagingly high volume that you’ll notice deterioration of the sound quality as the bass would start to bleed.
The bass is strong and punchy, with no bleed or distortion, you really start to appreciate the high quality of the bass when games rumbles. Coupled with this, the treble is presented in a naturally crisp manner, with the mid range being solid throughout. To be honest, the sound quality from the G4ME ZERO is good enough for most people to use everyday to listen to their music
Sound distance within games are accurately portrayed through the G4ME ZERO, allowing you to get a sense of just how far the sound you are hearing from you. When you are playing multiplayer games like Overwatch or Battlefield, the sound distance is crucial to gauge how far away the enemy is.
The downside to the G4ME ZERO is that it only has 2.1 sound channels. You will find most gaming headsets from Sennheiser’s competitors to have either 5.1 sound channels, and even 7.1. Having said that, the G4ME ZERO still does a very good job in giving you an immersive experience via its surround sound, with the oversized ear cups blocking off nearly all environmental sounds.
The swivel boom microphone fitted to the left ear cup of the G4ME ZERO is of very high quality. The feedback I received from other gamers was that the microphone pick up was natural and clear, with the noise-cancellation kicking in to block off any background noise.
