Sennheiser MOMENTUM In-Ear Review

Packaging & Contents

Inside the neatly packaged box, you’ll find the Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear comes neatly wrapped around its own cable tidy box, which snuggly fits inside a zipped carry pouch.

Momentum In-Ear

The construction of the cable tidy box within the carrying pouch makes it very sturdy for you to carry around, but I personally found it to be slightly on the large size, finding it difficult to fit into tight pockets. Inside the box you will also find a spare set of different sized rubber earbuds; extra small, small and large.

Design & Comfort

The Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear come in a choice of 2 colourways; an eye-catching combination of red and black, and the more sophisticated look of black chrome.

The construction of the earpiece is mainly plastic, with a metal back plate where you will find the Sennheiser logo. Remove the medium sized rubber earbuds, that comes fitted out as standard, and you’ll find what Sennheiser refers to as the stainless steel tunnel, which are custom machined to provide acoustic precision. The very first impression of the Momentum In-Ear was how lightweight they are at just 16g, sitting in your ear canal comfortably even during long periods of wearing the earpieces. In terms of weight and feel, the Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear sits in the middle of a pair of Shure SE215 and urBeats, with the SE215 being even lighter with more plastic in its construction, and the urBeats being heavier with more metal in its earpieces.

In side the packaging you will find 2 more sizes of the rubber earbuds for you to replace; a pair of large sized ones, and a pair of minutely small ones. Personally I have always had difficulties in finding earbuds to fit properly, balancing between having the earbuds too small so the earphones start to slip out, or have earbuds which are slightly too big and having to jam the earpieces into the ear canal causing slightly discomfort. With the design of the Momentum In-Ear, I found the ‘normal’ sized earbuds to be a perfect fit for me.

On the other end of the wired earphones is a 90 degree angled 3.5mm audio jack, a personal favourite feature of headphones/earphones for me as I find that there’s less stress on the wiring with the audio jack plugged into your music device.
