Verdict and Conclusion
Previous Steelseries headsets have always been marketed almost exclusively toward gamers, but this time Steelseries has taken a step past that and is attempting to cater toward more serious sound enthusiests with their made-for Apple 7H headset.
Since past designs have been designed with gaming in mind they have fallen short most of the time when it comes to things like listening to music.
It seems like Steelseries has tried to fix that notion with the 7H headset. While it is still good at games, it does do much better at music than previous headsets.
They aren’t quite top-quality yet, but Steelseries is getting there. It would be nice to hear their take on an audiophile quality headset in the future. I would also like for Steelseries to make that Apple-compatible adaptor into a universal adaptor instead.
You can easily paint the picture of the 7H being a jack of all trades. While it isn’t extremely good at any one thing, it does everything pretty well which is nice for a headset in its price range. But I do have to say, if Steelseries could get this headset to come in at the sub $100 price bracket they would have a winner.
Final words.
Steelseries has stepped up the quality in the speakers used from their mid-range line to the high-end 7H headset quite a bit. While these headphones aren’t quite audiophile quality they do deliver clear crisp sound that everyone can enjoy. There were very few instances where I felt that this headset didn’t sound very good, if they can improve on things just a tad more they can have quite a quality headset. But overall, if you are looking for a quality headset look no further. This headset is especially great if you need something for traveling.
