Steelseries 7XB – Xbox360 Wireless Headset Review

Even though these headphones are marketed to Xbox gamers, I will be testing these on the PC platform. This is due to it delivering a better audio experience in order to get the most out of these headphones.

PC Gaming

While there are newer games out there, I found these two games to have good sound and give good positional audio as well as detailed audio.

Need for Speed Shift

Often times people say that wireless headphones are bad for gaming but with this headset that was not the case. NFS: Shift comes in great on the 7XB. Sounds are realistic and give better headsets a run for their money when it comes to this game. Once you get a good profile set you are rewarded with roaring engines and screaming tires that are very detailed. Racing fans would have nothing to worry about using a 7XB during some intense racing sessions.

Team Fortress 2

In the world of FPS gaming, a little lag can be the difference between getting a kill and losing a match. Gladly, you can come in on top with this headset. There was no gaming lag at all when it came to TF2 and the 7XB. Sounds were crisp and clear when it came to all sound. Nothing was distorted in the least. Spies uncloaking in the room next room were easily heard, the sound of a sentry around the corner easily came in lound and clear as well. This headset will aid in your ability to play the game, something that not many other headsets can claim.
