Closer Look
Let us first begin with taking a look at the packaging of the 9H.
As you can see, the packaging of the 9H is fully black with some orange accents just like the actual headset. On the front of the box we see some basic information like the name, compatible devices and a picture of the headset.
Then on the back of the box we see some features and specs of the 9H…
Here you have a little plastic bag with all the cables and adaptors: the main headset cable, extension cable, mobile and 3.5mm jack pc cable.
Then after removing the other plastic boxing, we can finally see the 9H itself. It is combined with steelseries new V2 of the soundcard, it is the same as the one we saw on the Steelseries Elite.
But enough of the box let us get onto the actual headset ok?
So guys this is the 9H headset, fully black with a clean, sleek design. I really love that the microphone is hidden so well; on most gaming headsets it is really strikingly. And personally I like to wear my headset for other things too like going on trips with my iPod or such so I prefer a clean look. Although I can appreciate really cool gaming headsets with lots of bits and bobs like the Elite too.
The cushions of the 9H are super soft, and therefore really comfortable. Then the headband is not leather but it is really soft as well.
Here you can see the in-line remote, probably you know I am not a fan of in-line remotes. But this one is very small and light, with such remotes I have no problem at all. I just dislike the big and heavy ones. Plus it is a braided cable, something I really love!
Here is a picture of all the included cables/adapters. First of all the USB soundcard V2 (what I recommend to use when you are on PC, so you can make use of the Dolby features) a mobile adapter for your phone or iPod, a 3.5mm jack adapter also for the PC, the main headset cable and an extension cable.
