Performance
I have used the 9H for a while now, and I must say I really liked it, mostly thanks to the really soft ear cushions.
Because it is a tournament grade gaming headset I played some games with it, but because I find you need to use your headset, and expecially a more expensive one like this also to listen to music or watch movies/series. So I also listened to some music.
Gaming:
The crystal-clear-clarity of hearing gunshots and explosions go by a multiplayer round of Battlefield 4 was simply stunning. The realism offered when a headset sounds this clear is extremely important to gamers trying to find that extra edge, plus its much more fun if you can hear the music and effects good and clear.
Music:
It doesn’t really matter what genre you prefer, the most important thing about music is that YOU like it, its you who is listening to it. And with a better headset/headphone the music comes better to its right and you will have more fun listening to your favorite songs.
I really enjoyed listening to music with the 9H, mostly I use headsets with my PC but because I went on a holliday I used my iPod. It is just so comfortable to wear I can wear it all day and then the music quality is just great as well. The bass in the songs wasn’t to much but it wasn’t lacking either. The vocals where in my eyes crisp-clear and I had no problems with noise or interference when listening to songs.
Verdict
The Steelseries 9H gaming headset is a wonderfull headset, yes I know I already said it a million times but it is just so comfy. Now let us review some points of this headset, like always starting with the positive ones. The 9H has a great and simple black design, with an orange color inside the earcups, again really comfortable, a great braided cable with a little and light in-line remote, lots of available adapters for mobile, pc,… The biggest downside like a lot of Steelseries products is the price with 150 euros it is a rather expensive headset, so it may be outside of the reach of many consumers.
Pros
– Simple black design
– Really comfortable
– Braided cable
– Lots of adapters + extension cable
Cons
– Price
Final words:
I absolutely love this headset, and for people who have some money to spend, appreciate good looks and really soft earcups. I can really recommend this headset. If you are looking for a more striking look or light effects and such you can take a look the Steelseries Elite. if you are looking for a good wireless headset the H-Wireless is really worth checking out. I still use it very often.
