Colors of the Siberia Elite:
If you connect the headset to you computer with the USB soundcard you can choose colors on the earcups out of 16.8 Million colors or set in to colorshift, shifting colors constantly.
Microphone:
As the Siberia Elite is a gaming headset I do need to talk about the microphone, like all steelseries’ headsets the Elite has a retractable microphone. This is something I really like cause you can’t lose the microphone and if it get in your way you just push it back in. Also the microphone is very flexible so you can set it where you want it to be, under you mouth, before your mouth, on the side,… I personal find this system one of the best (if not the best) microphone solutions out there. Of course studio grade separate microphones are better but for a headset mic I really liked the performance. To mute the microphone you just need give the knob on the left earcup a twist. When muted the mic will light up.
Comfort:
The first thing you see when you look at the Siberia Elite are the two huge earcups, and they are not just comfortable they are heavenly to wear, even after a couple hours of wearing they still don’t hurt your ears or feel sweaty
Steelseries also implemented a flat no tangle cable what is really nice + they removed the volume and mute controller and build it inside the earcups. Left side has a knob to mute the microphone and the right side has a volume wheel.
With the suspension headband design there is no need to adjust the headset, just put in on you head and you are ready to play! This is extremely easy and with the extra padded leather its super comfortable too!
Share Port:
This is a really nice implementation as well. On the right earcup the is a headphone jack situated, so you can share the music you are listening to with others. For example you are sitting on the plane and you want to share the song with your friend, you can either give him the headset, connect a splitter or just connect your friends headset/headphone to the Elite. In this picture I connected my Steelseries Flux In-Ear pro’s the the Siberia Elite. And I must say its a cool thing to have!
Performance
Gaming:
Like the name says: Steelseries Siberia Elite Gaming Headset. So I think the headset is optimized for gaming. The crystal-clear-clarity of hearing gunshots and explosions go by a multiplayer round of Battlefield 4 was simply stunning. The realism offered when a headset sounds this clear is extremely important to gamers trying to find that extra edge, plus its much more fun if you can hear the music and effects good and clear. The 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound is great as well, you hear the sounds like the gunshots, moving vehicles and people talking from where they really come from and nut just from both ears like regular stereo headsets.
Music:
It doesn’t really matter what genre you prefer, the most important thing about music is that YOU like it, its you who is listening to it. And with a better headset/headphone the music comes better to its right and you will have more fun listening to your favorite songs.
I really enjoyed listening to music with the Elite, it just so comfortable to wear I can wear it all day and then the music quality is just great as well. The bass in the songs wasn’t to much but it wasn’t lacking either. The vocals where in my eyes crisp-clear and I had no problems with noise or interference when listening to songs.
