Conclusion and Verdict
I spent a week carrying this speaker around and testing at every available moment. The most talked about feature was the RGB, of course. It is a nice feature for those party gatherings! You can also shut it off if you want but, it definitely adds to the ambiance. The RGB also has a couple of mode to select from. The star of the party will be the RGB!
So as far as the sound goes this speaker is plenty loud and has a surprising amount of bass packed into such a small package. Each preset equalizer has a distinct sound. This is nice having such a diverse sound available at the push of a button. The speaker has nice bass tones and between the high and lows, neither overpowers each other. I was impressed with the overall sound quality of this speaker. The speaker is capable of filling an entire room with rich sound. You have several ways to connect your device as well. You can Bluetooth or simply hook up a 3.5mm and you are ready to go. . You get fantastic sound, device charging, and don’t forget about the RGB!
This speaker also has something I find very important in a portable speaker. Protection for the speaker. I have had several before that you worried if it would make it out of your backpack with having a pencil stuck through a speaker. Not with the XSound Mega, the speakers are fully protected with a metal grill.
And on a last note, the battery was not overstated. I was able to get roughly 15 hours of playtime at pretty high-volume levels and RGB on at all times. I can see you reaching the 20 hours if the volume was lower and the RGB wasn’t on.
