Conclusion and Verdict
Well there we have it! The new reboot of a great mouse. The subtle differences in the material, size and weight are minimal but the upgraded switches to 60 million from 30 million clicks and the new Pixart 9800 sensor are the biggest improvements. Now weather or not I could even take a mouse to 30 million clicks is debatable but its nice knowing I could make it to 60 million with the 710. I fell confident that I will be able to use this mouse for the rest of my life. I do like the smooth rubber feel of the material on the 710 compared to the textured style of the 700.
I know the keyboard I had that had a display became very boring because there was only a handful of applications that you could download through developers. Keep the OLED relevant and there will be a growing crowd. I simply love the vibration feedback. Once again, I never noticed the feedback interfering with my play at all. I actually enjoy the feature.
The swap-able covers and sensors are compatible with the Rival 700 also but you cant upgrade the switches. It also looks like you cant buy the 700 directly from SteelSeries any longer. So if you missed out on the 700 hurry and get your hands on the 710. You won’t be disappointed.
You can buy the SteelSeries Rival 710 Gaming Mouse for around USD $99 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/2QaZPoq

Final thoughts:
The Rival 700 set the bar high and took a leap where no one else has journeyed. The design of 710 is pretty much the same, but the upgraded switches and the new Pixart 9800 sensor is the key for the success of the 710. I look forward to seeing what SteelSeries has up there sleeves for 2019! Top notch company, with quality products!
