Package and its Contents
The FA100 SSD package is about the same as the one of the previously reviewed SA100 SSD. It’s a small, flat box that is perfectly fine for a small product as SSD.
We will find an SSD, a quick start guide, and a small screw for the installation inside the box. The same as in the SA100, I’m glad to see something as simple as a screw. When we install our new SSD on a laptop, it’s usually missing, and competitive brands are never adding it.
The SSD itself looks quite standard. It meets M.2 2280 standard size, so it will work with every device that supports it in the PCIe/NVMe version. We can count that every modern laptop or desktop computer supports it, so there shouldn’t be any problem with installation if we add the SSD to a quite new computer.
The FA100 SSD was tested on a modern gaming laptop from ASUS, which guarantees the maximum possible bandwidth. It would look better in an Acer laptop, but we don’t have any available for tests right now.
The SSD should work without issues on any brand laptop or desktop PC. The performance depends on the socket speed. For the best results, we are recommending M.2 PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 x4.
On the next page of this review, we will take a closer look at the performance.
