Conclusion
The GM7 SSD is one more successful product under the Predator brand. It pleasantly surprised me multiple times and gave me some fun testing a new and original SSD that has a chance to change something on the already dull storage market.
When we hear DRAM-less design, we think about budget SSD series. It’s absolutely not the case with the GM7, which provides amazing results in all tests. In some tests, we can easily compare our results to the market’s top PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.
The performance is amazing, but for me, there is one more important feature I have been waiting for a long time. I mean temperatures and power usage. There are many SSD that can already pass 7GB/s bandwidth, but how many can do that below 50°C? Because of low operating temperatures, the GM7 is perfect for laptops, SFF PC, RAID setups with limited airflow, or gaming consoles. It’s nearly impossible to reach the throttling point on this SSD, no matter what we will do, so it keeps optimal performance all the time.
During the tests, there were no problems with the compatibility or stability of the Predator GM7 SSD. The Predator GM7 is covered by a 5-year warranty, one of the longest options on the market.
The SSD hasn’t been released to stores yet but will be available soon. The expected prices are $49.99, $89.99, and $159.99 for the 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB, respectively.
Final words:
The Predator GM7 is the perfect gaming SSD that combines high performance with low operating temperatures, and a standard form factor that can be installed in every gaming PC or PS5 console. Since the expected price is low, then you can be sure it’s a great deal!
