Verdict and Conclusion
We’ve already reviewed the Corsair MP700 a few months back, and it was extremely fast SSD for enthusiasts and content creators alike. But as users push for more performance, Corsair have now launched their fastest SSD to date the MP700 PRO SE.
The MP700 PRO SE is arguably one of the of the fastest SSDs on the market right now, offering an eye-popping Sequential Read speed of up to 14,000 MB/sec, and a Sequential Write speed of up to 12,000 MB/sec.
During our benchmarks, the Corsair MP700 PRO SE produced a phenomenal read speed of 14,123 MB/sec and a write speed of 12,299 MB/sec. For Anvil’s 4K QD16 read/write test, we got phenomenal IOPS scores of 290,060.47 and 578,716.68 respectively. What I really like about the Corsair MP700 PRO SE, is that it performs much better than advertised. And that’s always a good thing!
These amazing results is all thanks to the adoption of Phison’s latest PS5026-E26 PCIE 5.0 SSD controller and Micron’s 232-Layer 3D TLC NAND chips, which provides the best combination for performance and endurance.
To help cool the Corsair MP700 PRO SE, it comes with a large heatsink which is cooled by an integrated active air cooler. This really helps to lower the operating temperatures and prevents it from throttling.
If you don’t need such a high-end SSD, then you can also check out Corsair’s MP700 Pro at USD $299 which offers a slighlty lower (but still insanely fast) read/write speeds of up to 12,400MB/s and 11,800MB/s respectively!
Although the MP700 PRO SE is fairly pricey, I still think it’s worth considering if you factor in its amazing performance and the impressive 5-year warranty. You can buy the Corsair MP700 PRO SE 2TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD (with Air Cooler) for around USD $344 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/4c53qJH
Final Thoughts
If you’re a professional content creator who’s after one of the fastest performing PCIE Gen5 SSD on the market, then the choice is clear. The Corsair MP700 PRO SE gives you uncompromised performance, and super fast read speed of up to 14,000 MB/s, and a write speed of 12,000 MB/s.
