Specification
Above we can see general specifications for Crucial BX100. This SSD is available in capacities from 120GB to 1TB. All of the versions have the same features except performance. Higher capacity SSD offer higher performance due to more controller channels. 500GB and 1TB should provide similar performance.
Below is also list of advantages taken from Crucial website. As we see BX100 should provide much higher performance and reliability than standard HDD. This line is a great option for all who wish to replace old HDD to much faster SSD.
Closer Look
Now it’s time to take a closer look at the SSD itself.
Starting from the package, there is nothing unusual. Crucial BX100 has arrived in a typical small box which is enough to protect it for the time of transport.
Outside the box there is short info what we can find inside with visible 500GB sticker.
Back of the package includes some additional info like basic product specification or contact to support. Crucial offers three year warranty for BX100. Once again I have to add that their support is really good and works fast.
Inside the box is SSD itself and 7mm to 9.5mm spacer which helps to install 7mm SSD in older laptops.
Crucial BX100 SSD looks simple but I really like it. Enclosure is made of metal and its size is standard so should fit into any laptop or desktop PC with 2.5″ bay.
On the back of the SSD we can find model, serial and product numbers. All you need in case of RMA what hopefully will never happen.
Let’s move to the next page to check how Crucial BX100 is performing in our tests.
