Crucial BX500 960GB SATA SSD Review

Conclusion and Verdict

The BX500 SSD is an interesting product especially for all those who are looking for an inexpensive way to replace old and slow HDD. I’m glad to see BX500 in a higher capacity as 960GB is already a good option also for additional storage when we have a larger amount of data like photos, videos or anything else that we are keeping on drives.

The BX500 is not the fastest drive but all users who need something faster can always check other products from Crucial SSD family. However, if we have a lower budget and still need higher capacity then we can always use smaller and faster SSD for most commonly used files and the BX500 for things that we are not using so often but when we do then we wish it to run fast.

960GB version of the BX500 costs $129.99 on Amazon what is a great price for what this drive offers.

The same as all BX500 SSD, also the 960GB version is covered by a three-year warranty. Not to mention that in case of any problem, we have really helpful support on our side.

Pros:

  • High performance to price ratio
  • Inexpensive
  • High compatibility
  • Momentum Cache
  • 3-year warranty

Cons:

  • Performance in random operations could be higher

Final words:

Crucial BX500 is a great option if we are considering an upgrade from an HDD to SSD but we don’t have a high budget. Especially 960GB version is interesting if we are using a laptop which supports only one drive and we still have more data.

A refreshed line of the BX500 SSD is about as fast as the previous one so it’s not a surprise that also tested by us 960GB version of the BX500 SSD receives FunkyKit Recommended Award!
