Crucial P310 2TB NVMe M.2 2230 SSD Review

Package and its Contents

The package is about the same as most other new Crucial SSDs. We will find an SSD and a quick user guide in the box – everything we need for the installation. Since the M.2 2230 SSDs are designed for mobile devices, we simply open the cover and install it in the available socket, which shouldn’t take more than five minutes.

The P310 is available in two form factors, but both contain similar components and perform similarly. The M.2 2230 version is one of the fastest SSDs for handheld consoles and small laptops and is also available at 2TB capacity. Many competitive series don’t have higher options than a 1TB.

The SSD is tiny and wholly black, with white fonts printed on the labels on both sides. There is a lot of info on this small surface, but we won’t ever need most of it. The most important thing is that the SSD fits the M.2 2230 socket, which makes it compatible with all modern handheld consoles and most small laptops from leading brands.

Below are additional photos of the SSD installed on Steam Deck. However, because of the Steam Deck hardware limitations (low maximum bandwidth), the SSD was tested on the desktop platform containing the ASRock B860M Steel Legend motherboard.

We will show you how the P310 SSD performs on the next page of this review.
