Package and its Contents
The package includes the T500 4TB SSD and a multilingual quick-start guide. The heatsink makes the package slightly thicker than a typical Crucial SSD box, but it’s not as thick as the one for the T700 SSD. We will find general specifications, additional features, and contact support on the exterior.
The T500 is designed for desktop computers, so it requires nothing else. The installation itself is straightforward so that everyone can handle it.
The only real requirement for optimal performance is an M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 socket. Every modern motherboard is equipped with at least one of those. In the best case, we may find even five M.2 PCIe 4.0/5.0 sockets, and if we want, we can set up a multi-SSD RAID array.
The drive, including the PCB, heatsink, and labels, is black, which makes it match perfectly with every PC. If we have a higher-series motherboard – like one we use as a test rig – I recommend ordering a version without a heatsink, as the heatsink won’t be required, and the price will be lower.
Below are some photos of the T500 SSD installed on the Gigabyte X870E AORUS Pro ICE, which will be used for tests.
We will show you how the T500 SSD performs on the next page of this review.
