Package and its Contents
The package includes the T705 2TB SSD and a multilingual quick-start guide. The tall heatsink makes the package slightly thicker than a typical Crucial SSD box. We will find general specifications, additional features, and contact support on the exterior.
The T705 is designed for desktop computers, so it doesn’t require anything else. The installation itself is straightforward so that everyone can handle it.
We need a new motherboard that supports the M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 standard to make our new SSD run at full speed. AMD motherboards provide higher maximum bandwidth, and only on them can we reach the declared 14.5GB/s. Everything else, so random bandwidth and IOPS will be similar on Intel chipsets.
The drive, including the PCB, heatsink, and labels, is black. It does not look much different than the T700 SSD, and it matches every PC perfectly. The test rig contains a Gigabyte B650E Master motherboard, which provides four PCIe 5.0 x4. It looks much better with the motherboard heatsinks, but for the test requirements, we had to remove the huge motherboard heatsink. As you can see on the attached photos, nothing is interfering with the SSD, and nothing is heating up the air around it.
We will show you how the T705 SSD performs on the next page of this review.
