The 2TB version of T705 has a declared maximum bandwidth of up to 14500MB/s read and up to 12700MB/s write. In our tests, we could reach the declared bandwidth. So far, it’s the highest bandwidth we can find in stores for a single SSD.

The T705 LE uses a Micron 232-layer TLC NAND and Phison E26 controller, precisely the same as the T700 and T705. However, further improvements made it work even faster than on the T700 series. The specifications and our tests confirm that the T705 is the fastest SSD we can get. Some competitive SSDs are similarly fast but cost more, and it’s hard to say that the T705 is inexpensive.
The SSD arrived with a 0-hour counter and was in perfect condition. CrystalDiskInfo shows that it is brand new without SMART errors or used cells.
The idle temperature is around 35°C, which is normal. Under load, the T705 series keeps temperatures up to 70°C below the throttling point. It also doesn’t need a fan to maintain optimal performance, but I recommend good airflow in the PC case, as all PCIe 5.0 SSDs are pretty hot.
Crucial provides Storage Executive software, which shows general SSD info and SMART log, lets you update firmware, and adds other features.
The Crucial Software Executive is available to download directly from Crucial’s website.
On the next page, we will look at the SSD itself and the package contents.
