Package and its Contents
The package is similar to the regular T705 SSD but brightly colored, with the Limited Edition SSD picture in front. It includes the T705 2TB SSD and a multilingual quick-start guide. The tall heatsink makes the package slightly thicker than a typical Crucial SSD box. On the exterior, we will find general specifications, additional features, and contact support.
The T705 is designed for desktop computers, so it doesn’t require anything else. The installation itself is straightforward so that everyone can handle it.
We need a new motherboard that supports the M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 standard to make our new SSD run at full speed. AMD motherboards provide higher maximum bandwidth, and we can reach the declared 14.5GB/s on them. On the other hand, random operations are often slightly faster on Intel chipsets.
The Limited Edition almost only describes the white heatsink, as the SSD’s specifications are the same as those of the regular version. I assume that the white heatsink version is available only for a short time. Everything under the heatsink is the same as in the regular T705 SSD, including black PCB and black labels on the back.
Below, you can see how the SSD looks on the ASUS Z790 APEX motherboard. For tests, we will use the Gigabyte B650E Master.
We will show you how the T705 SSD performs on the next page of this review.
