The X9 SSD’s declared maximum read bandwidth is 1050MB/s, which is precisely the same as the maximum declared bandwidth of the X9 Pro SSD. However, the X9 has no specified write bandwidth. In our tests, the maximum write bandwidth was slightly below 1000MB/s.
One more difference we see in the specifications is the warranty. The Pro version has two more years of warranty, which is a significant difference, but three years is still long enough for most users.

There are more differences in the features. Although the enclosures of the X9 and X9 Pro seem exactly the same at first glance, only the Pro version is compliant with the IP55 durability standard. The main difference is that the top cover is made of plastic instead of metal alloy.
Another difference is the lack of encryption in the regular X9 SSD. I assume this won’t be a problem for most users.
The SSD arrived with a 0-hour counter and was in perfect condition. CrystalDiskInfo shows it to be brand new without SMART errors or used cells.
Crucial provides Storage Executive software, which shows the same SMART data and gives us additional options, like the firmware update. It’s mentioned in each Crucial review, so it’s well-known, and I will skip it this time. I will only add that the SSD arrived in a retail package with the latest firmware.
The average temperature is very low. We can count on up to 45°C during maximum load, making it one of the coolest portable SSDs on the market. The average temperatures are similar to those of the X9 Pro SSD and slightly lower than the X10 Pro SSD.
